Los Angeles, USA -- The moment the news of the tsunami disaster in Sri Lanka was conveyed, the Sri Lankan Buddhist monks and devotees in US rallied together to raise funds to help the victims.
On the request of Ven. Walpola Piyananda, abbot of Dharma Vijaya Buddhist Vihara in Los Angeles, the Americare Organization is distributing medical supplies in Sri Lanka.
The Direct Relief International organisation in Santa Barbara will be sending another flight with medical supplies soon.
The Top Heavy Clothing Co. will be sending over 100,000 shirts to Sri Lanka. Dharma Vijaya Tsunami Relief Fund has already collected over US$ 50,000.00 and the fund continues to grow.
