News24.com, Mar 27, 2006

Cape Town, South Africa -- Democratic Alliance leader Tony Leon is to leave for Dharamsala, India, on Monday to visit Tibet's Buddhist spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, the party said on Monday.

Leon is to lead a delegation including Inkatha Freedom Party member Ben Skosana, to be briefed on the situation in Tibet, the DA said in a statement.

"This visit follows soon after the recent launch of a South African-Tibet friendship group consisting of several members of parliament that have an interest in the Tibetan situation."
