Buddhist Order set up centre

Blackburn, UK -- A NEW Buddhist centre has opened its doors to the public. Blackburn Buddhist Centre unveiled its new premises in Strawberry Bank, Blackburn.

The Buddhist centre was officially opened by Parami, a senior Order member of the Western Buddhist Order, who led the ceremony for the local group, known as sangha.

Festivities were led by the centre chairman, Adiccabandhu.

Red balloons were released, sending messages of compasion and goodwill over Blackburn. Friends and Order members from outer areas of Blackburn blessed the centre and the teaching team.

Maitri House had a steady stream of visitors including the Mayoress of Blackburn, Coun Dorothy Walsh.
