Tibetan Buddhist Lama visits Ireland

Belfast Telegraph, August 2, 2008

Belfast, Ireland -- A Tibetan Buddhist Lama, who's the 7th reincarnation in his line, has been visiting Ireland from his monastery in India.

Ontrul Rinpoche performed a very rare Buddhist ceremony in Wicklow as part of his week-long stay in a retreat.

He went to sacred sites such as Newgrange, Tara and Glendalough and was invited to meet the Lord Mayor of Dublin at a reception in the Mansion House.

While here he said he came across hugely significant connections between the Celtic and Tibetan cultures especially in the areas of meditation and spiritual practice.
