Buddhists welcome visit from top Tibetan lama
Hornsby Advocate, 16 Dec, 2009
Hornsby, Australia -- MEMBERS of a local Buddhist group have welcomed a visit by their spiritual director Choje Ayang Rinpoche.
The senior Tibetan lama has been holding a series of teachings this week at the Amitabha Foundation’s headquarters at Waitara. The spiritual director told the Advocate he felt a sense of peace here.
“The first time I visited Australia, from the airport coming in the car, I had a very special feeling,” he said.
“I had been to many western countries ... this country something special; I can feel strong peace.”
He has also found Australians to be relaxed - “not too much rush compared to other countries”.
On Saturday he will conduct a session for more experienced Buddhist practitioners. A prior interview is required and the cost is by donation.
