342 Bachelors of Buddhism graduate

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam -- The Viet Nam Buddhist Seminary in Ho Chi Minh City on August 28 held a graduation ceremony for 342 monks and nuns from pagodas in southern provinces.

Head of the Government's Religious Board, Ngo Yen Thi, was among Buddhist clerics present at the event.

The seminary has held five training courses for over 1,000 monks and nuns over the past 20 years. Over 250 students have won scholarships for higher education abroad.

Of them, 30 have successfully defended doctoral theses and returned home to serve at Buddhist seminaries or pagodas across the country.
