Dong Nai, Vietnam -- A judge from the Court of Thailand Sunday presented King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s robe to local monks at a ceremony held in Phuoc Son Monastery in southern Dong Nai Province.
It marks the fourth time the Royal Kathina Ceremony, a major event for followers of Theravada Buddhism, was held in Vietnam. It was previously organized at Pho Minh Pagoda in Ho Chi Minh City in 2004, 2006 and 2007.
Established in 1995, the ceremony is part of Thailand’s project to strengthen cultural relations with neighboring countries.
