The course, being held until Nov. 11 by the Viet Nam Buddhism Sangha (VBS) Central Committee's Dharma Dissemination Department, aims to provide the 150 participants with skills and methods of giving lectures in pagodas and VBS's training establishments at all levels.
This is the third course of its kind to be held in Ha Noi and the first workshop on Buddhist teachings dissemination. Since the VBS's establishment in 1981, the Dharma Dissemination Department has organised many short and long-term refresher courses for monks in provinces and cities nationwide.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Most Venerable Thich Tri Quang, Deputy Chairman of the VBS Executive Council and Head of the Dharma Dissemination Department, stressed that the dissemination of Buddhism needs to adapt to the changing social situation in the 21st century when the world is seeing strong scientific and technological development .
The workshop is also a chance for monks to discuss their work and direction of dharma dissemination in the 21st century.
