7th Global Conference on Buddhism (GCB), Indonesia

Jakarta, Indonesia -- December 10 - 11, 2011 shall be marked as monumental days for the Indonesian Buddhist community as the 7th edition of the Global Conference on Buddhism (GCB) will be held in Indonesia for the first time.

The theme for this conference is “
Buddhist Solutions for the Modern Troubled Times”.
The event covers eight diverse topics which will touch on the never-ending and recurring problems and dissatisfaction of life.
The topics include:
• Keynote: Fostering peace in multi-religious and multi-cultural communities
• Session I: Living without Fear and Anger
• Session II: Transcending Our Corrupted Mind
• Session III: Dealing with Dissatisfaction in Life
• Session IV: Living without Guilt and Regret
• Session V: Meditation for Worldly and Spiritual Pursuits
• Session VI: Death and Rebirth
• Session VII: The Righteous Leadership in Buddhism
In this edition of the GCB, eleven Buddhist teachers and scholars from around the world will attend the event and teach the Dharma. Among the prominent speakers invited are: Ajahn Brahmavamso, Ringu Tulku Rinpoche, Ven. Master Guo Jun Fashi, Ven. Hueiguang, Angie Monksfield, and Dr. Wong Yin Onn.
The Buddhist Fellowship Indonesia are host for the event and says that the 7GCB will bring much benefit for the Indonesian Buddhist community.
