New Delhi Conference Honors 90th Birth Anniversary of 14th Dalai Lama

New Delhi, India -- On Sunday, July 13, 2025, the International Buddhist Confederation (IBC) hosted a day-long conference at the Ashoka Hotel in New Delhi to commemorate the 90th birth anniversary of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. The event was attended by a capacity crowd of 600 participants.

The event brought together scholars, researchers, practitioners, and eminent spiritual leaders to discuss the relevance of Buddha Dharma, the relationship between traditional practices and scientific evidence, and the future of Tibetan Buddhism.
The conference featured discussions on key topics such as "The Spiritual Teachings of His Holiness the Dalai Lama: Relevance in the 21st Century," "Future of Tibetan Buddhism and the Preservation of its Culture," and "Quantum Physics, Neurosciences, and Buddhism." These sessions highlighted the Dalai Lama’s teachings, emphasizing inner transformation, ethical living, and the integration of Buddhist wisdom with modern science.
A statement from the IBC noted, "This conference honored the 90th birth anniversary of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, a global symbol of peace and a devout practitioner of Buddha Dharma. His teachings underscore doing good, refraining from harm, and cultivating wisdom."
Among the distinguished panelists was Most Venerable Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche, a renowned scholar, philosopher, former Prime Minister of the Central Tibetan Administration, and a close advisor to the Dalai Lama. Most Venerable Phrarat Vajarasuttiwong Dhammalongkornvibhusit Arayawangso, a respected Thai Buddhist monk and senior member of Thailand’s Supreme Sangha Council, also participated, alongside other prominent international and national Buddhist monks.
The event followed celebrations of the Dalai Lama’s 90th birth anniversary on July 6, 2025, in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh, where his enduring legacy of compassion and wisdom was also honored.
