Stifling of information is counter productive
by Robert Van Kirk, Los Angeles, USA, The Buddhist Channel, Nov 11, 2009
First I'd like to thank you for the service of the Buddhist Channel, I've been following for over a year now and get most, if not all of my up-to-date news on Buddhism from your website. I'm very appreciative of this offering you have given us.
I'm writing to express my dismay over the removal of the recent articles discussing the Western Sangha situation. Although I very much agree with your noble intent, I feel the deliberate stifling of information on the subject to be disheartening and counterproductive to the purpose of the site.
Although perhaps discussion itself might be limited, the information itself should be left available for those unaware of the situation and for the mere sake of knowledge of the situation so steps could be taken to not repeat the same instance in the future.
Once again, thank you so much for your service and I sincerely hope that the spirit of free information involving the news is preserved.
