Concert at revered Bodhi Tree cancelled

It appears that the campaign to prevent the Japanese concert right next to the Bodhi Tree in Buddha Gaya, which was negotiated and planned in secret with wads of money going to several Hindu members of the Management Committee, has succeeded.

State officials have ordered the dismantling of the huge stage and pavilion. The venue is being moved to a new, more appropriate location which will permit the concert to be held without compromising the sancitity and tranquility of the great Maha Bodhi Temple.
