Peaceful March for Release of Trulku Tenzin Delek

BUDAPEST, Hungary -- Aboutt 30 people, including resident Tibetans, held a peaceful march, carrying the Tibetan national flag, photographs of Trulku Tenzin Delek from Hero's Square to Chinese Embassy on 10th December.
Outside the Embassy which was surrounded by the police, the peaceful marchers lit candles, paid tribute to the Tibetan prisoners by observing few minutes silence and shouted ' Free Tibet', ' Release Tenzin Delek' slogans. The long-life prayer of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the Prayer of Truth was chanted by the peaceful marchers.
On 11th December, a special prayer was held for the life of Trulku Tenzin Delek at Sambhla Center which was attended by resident Tibetans and members of Tibet Support Group of Hungary. This was followed by a round table discussion on 'Tibet's present and future in Hungary'. The guest speakers include Dr. Fodor Gabor, Member of Parliament, Mr Miklos Sukosd, Prof. at CEU, Mr. Mark Fodor, Director of Amnesty International Hungary, Ven. Choegyal Tenzin. Tibetan MP and Mr Sonam Tenzing, Representative of H.H. the Dalai Lama. The panel discussion focussed mainly on possible ways to help Tibet in the most effective manner.
From December 2 to 9, the TSG Hungary and resident Tibetans conducted signature campaign, distributed leaflets calling for people's support in saving Trulku Tenzin Delek, at Vorosmarty square, one of the busiest market-place of Budapest.
In spite of season's shopping craze, many people showed serious interest in the Tibetan monk's case. Over thousand signatures were collected, which is going to be submitted to the UN Commissioner for Human Rights, European Union, President of the People's Republic of China.
Two films 'Tibet: China's Gulag' and 'The History of Tibet' were shown to the people of Hungary.
