Moscow concerned over "fuss" surrounding Dalai Lama trip

Interfax, Nov 10 2004

MOSCOW, Russia -- Moscow is concerned over what they called "an unhealthy fuss" that has been surrounding the Dalai Lama's would-be private visit to Kalmykia's capital city of Elista for religious purposes, Interfax learned from diplomatic sources on Wednesday.

The sources said this could question the very possibility of the pastoral visit.

"The Buddhist commune itself is not interested in excessive publicity of the trip, which is fraught with its over-politicizing," they said.
