Top Buddhist teacher to visit Hertfordshire

Welwyn and Hutfield Times, October 4, 2006

Hertfordshire, England -- A TIBETAN Buddhist teacher will be giving a talk in WGC during a rare trip to the West. H H Phakchok Rinpoche, who is 25, will be speaking at Mill Green Golf Club on Sunday.

Organiser David Cox told the WHT: "I cannot emphasise how rare it is to have someone with these amount of 'qualifications' in Tantric Buddhism, giving public lectures in the West.

"The title 'H H' stands for 'His Holiness'. This is the highest title given in Tibetan Buddhism. It is only bestowed upon a person who has been officially recognised and tested as the head of a bona fide lineage or school of Tibetan Buddhist philosophy. It's the same title held by the 14th Dalai Lama."

The lecture, called Introduction to Tibetan Buddhism, will take place between 3.30pm and 5.30pm and costs 5 or 2.50 for the unemployed.
