Four crews attended the Watbuttharam charity in Blake Hall Road, Wanstead - which is based in a semi-detached house - after they were called around 7am this morning (Monday).

The firefighters quickly got the blaze under control.

Resident Wensomchai Wirawat told the Recorder that he and fellow Buddhists only bought the home two weeks ago.

The cause of the fire is yet to be confirmed by a fire investigation team.
