Hasting Buddhist Centre Open Day

Hastings, UK -- THE MAITREYA Buddhist Centre on Sea Road are holding an open day on May 2 from 10.30am-5pm.

The open day is free to anyone who is interested in finding out more about the centre.

On the day there will be taster meditation sessions, talks about the centre and what it offers, as well as the chance to talk to the staff and to find out about the history of the centre and tradition.

The centre has a meditation room, a library and a shop which sells fairly traded goods.

Currently the centre run groups for children called "Dharma for Kids" and are hoping to start "Dharma for Teenagers" in the near future.

Mike Burr at the centre said: "Meditation can be for everyone of all ages, our oldest member is 94 years old.

"We teach people to look at things differently, when situations arise and our minds aren't calm we can get stressed."
