Buddhist monks visit Takht Bhai

MARDAN, Pakistan -- A delegation of the Society of Asian Civilisations on Monday visited the Buddhist religious and historical sites in Takht Bhai, and Gandhara Research Centre of the Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan.

The nine-member delegation comprising two monks and other Buddhist scholars hails from Thailand. They were warmly received by Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Ihsan Ali and other staff of the university.

The delegation along with the university officials visited the Buddhist historical and religious sites in Takht Bhai which are famously known as the Takht Bhai Kandarat.

The monks and their colleagues offered religious prayers in the Takht Bhai Kandarat and later visited different sections of the Buddhist historical place.
