The Buddhist philosophy inspires the world to follow the path of peace and the conference, he said, adding that it would be fruitful to make the publicity of Buddhist philosophy and Buddha's birthplace Lumbini.
President Yadav urged all to use the latest technology positively, as it has both destructive and constructive aspects. The destruction with technology is quite unpleasant, he added.
Moreover, the President said that the world could learn a lesson from Nepal, as it is on the way to peace after ditching the politics of arms and violence.
He urged the political parties for timely constitution by putting the people in centre because all Nepali are waiting for this.
"I pray for timely constitution as per the wish of all Nepali and with respect to the spirit of all religious groups, castes and class", the President added.
Also on the occasion, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Local Development, Prakash Man Singh, said the conference would help publicise the Buddhist philosophy and Lumbini.
Similarly, Minister for Tourism and Culture Deepak Chandra Amatya said though Nepal is culturally rich, it is yet to get benefit for lack of proper publicity.
Around 400 Buddhist monks and scholars from different 30 countries are participating in the four-day conference where 94 work papers would be presented.
The conference is jointly organised by Nepal Theravad Buddhist Academy and Sitagu International Buddhist Academy, Myanmar.
