Dalai Lama's office in Kathmandu closed

KATHMANDU, Nepal -- The Government has closed two offices associated with the Buddhist spiritual leader Dalai Lama, after ''they were found operating without permission and breaching the Foreign policy of Nepal,'' a local newspaper reported today.

The Kathmandu Post wrote that the Office of the Representative of Dalai Lama and Tibetan Refugee Welfare Office were shut down by the Government.

Both the Offices were located in the same building in Lazimpat.

Details of the incident have not been given.

More than 20,000 Tibetan refugees, the followers of Dalai Lama are living in Nepal, according to the official figures, however, the number is said to be very high otherwise.
