Tibetans are suffering because of politics: Gyalwang Drukpa

Kathmandu, Nepal -- Tibetan people are going through difficulties because of political reasons and the spiritual master Dalai Lama is just helping them in all possible non-violent ways, says the head of Drukpa lineage, an 800-year-old Buddhist sect from Tibet.

"I don't have any specific kind of view in Tibet, which is a political issue and a very big problem for Tibetans who are suffering because of this. But politics is something which we are dependent on. I hope master Dalai Lama will solve this problem soon, says the XII Gyalwang Drukpa.

Hoping that there would be progress between representatives of Dalai Lama and Beijing on the contentious issue, he says, "I don't think he (Dali Lama) differentiates between Chinese and Tibetans. If tomorrow the Chinese were to go through difficulties, I am sure he will definitely help them too."

The XIIth Gyalwang Drukpa, was in Kathmandu where the Tibetan Drukpa lineage hosted its maiden annual Drukpa Council (ADC). Over 2000 practitioners and more than 50 Buddhist masters from 67 countries are participating in the event from April 8-16.

It's the responsibility of gurus or spiritual masters to convert people's minds and bring them on the path of peace," says the master of 800 year-old religious practice.
