Fifth International Buddhist fest on Feb 27, 28

Bhopal, India -- Fifth international Buddhist festival is scheduled here on February 27 and 28 on the occasion of the 125th birth anniversary of Bhimrao Ambedkar. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has been invited as the chief guest at the programme.
While talking to the media persons here on Saturday, treasurer of the Buddhabhumi Dhammadoot Sangh Bhante Rahulputra said that an international conference on ‘Women empowerment’ has been convened. Informing about the objective behind this conference, he stated that this conference aims to provide equal status to women in the religion, like Buddha did.
This is the first time they are organising a women’s empowerment conference in Bhopal, he added. International conference on women empowerment will be held on Feb 27 at Administration academy at Shahpura, Bhopal from 10.30 am.
Topics that will be discussed in the conference are empowering women together to design a bright future, new horizons to empower women, role of women entrepreneurs in make in India, the contribution of women in world peace and Yoga and Buddhism.
The 5th international Buddhist festival will be held on February 28 at Buddhbhumi Mahaveer, Golden Buddha statue, Chunabhatti, Kolar Road. Welcome speech will be given by local legislator Rameshwar Sharma, followed by discussion on socio–cultural impact of Buddhism in empowering women.
