Tibetan drowns in River Krishna

Guntur, India -- A Tibetan pilgrim, who came to Buddhist Kalachakra rituals at Amaravathi in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh, drowned in the River Krishna today.

The Tibetan, Gnyensoton (25), while bathing in the river, was carried away by the swift currents, police said.

His body is yet to be traced.

The victim, who hailed from Monester village in Tibet, arrived in Amaravathi from Karnataka along with Tibetan pilgrims yesterday, police added.
