Bodhgaya, Bihar (India) -- Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama has urged his followers to practise faith with reason, saying that it should not be blind.
"Buddhist faith must come from analytical meditation. Analyse using our intelligence maximum way, throughout that way. Faith should not just be blind faith or without reason," the Dalai Lama said at an international seminar on Buddhism going on here.
The seminar has been organised by the Ministry of Tourism and Culture to mark the 2,550th year of Buddha's Mahaparinirvana.
The Dalai Lama offered obeisance to the founder of the faith and installed the relics with elaborate rituals and chants.
Apart from Buddha's relics, the ashes of two of Buddha's disciples Sariputa and Mahabhogalya are also being moved to Bodhgaya.
The three-day seminar titled '21st Century and Buddhism" was inaugurated by the Dalai Lama on February 4.
A large number of Buddhists monks and devotees have congregated in the holy town for the festival.
The seminar has experts from various countries, including USA, Germany, Estonia, Brazil, Hungary, Malaysia, Taiwan, UK, Japan, Sri Lanka and Thailand.
