For the development of existing Buddhist sites of Sarnath, Jushinagar, Kapilvastu, Sravasti and Sankisa in Uttar Pradesh, a loan agreement of 9,495 million Yen has also been signed with the bank, Tourism and Culture Minister Ambika Soni told Rajya Sabha Tuesday.
In addition, the government has contracted a loan agreement for 7,331 million Yen with the Japanese bank for the conservation of Ajanta and Ellora caves in Maharashtra and for promoting them as popular tourist spots.
The project will also cover Pitalkora, Aurangabad, Daulatabad, Patnadevei and Lonar in Maharashtra.
