The art and culture department of the state government that looks after different museums, including the famous Patna museum, had already initiated the move in consultation with officials of Singapore museum.

Bihar’s principal secretary (art and culture) Anjani Kumar Singh said the Singapore museum, considered to be the most modern in the world, had agreed to provide the technological support required for the modernisation of the interiors of Patna museum.

A team of Singapore museum officials, led by Gauri Krishnan visited the collection of antiques at the museums of Patna, Gaya and Nalanda.

They concluded that though the collections on natural history, antiques and Buddhist artefacts were rich, the display method needed modernisation, Singh added.
