Dharamsala, India -- Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama, made his first public appearance after leaving hospital, as he began a three-day spiritual teaching discourse in Dharamsala today.

Organised by the ‘Tibetan Buddhist Center Singapore’, the three-day discourse of religious teachings are being attended by Buddhists in large numbers from across the world.

Buddhists believe that these teachings would help them attain enlightenment.

“This is very important because this is the teaching that will bring us from stage to stage as a Buddhist to enlightenment,” said Richard, a participant from Singapore.

“The teachings are most important thing in my life. His holiness is holy man and he has a lot to say which is very important for our world, for all people in our world,” said Kim, a Buddhists follower form Australia.

The 73-year-old Dalai Lama was admitted to a Mumbai hospital with “abdominal discomfort”. He had to cancel two foreign trips because of his ailment.

The Dalai Lama has called a special meeting of Tibetan exiles in November or December to discuss this year’s political unrest in Tibet and the future of the Tibetan movement.
