Air taxi service connecting Buddhist sites in Bihar

PTI, Nov 16, 2009

Patna, India -- With an increase in tourist flow to Bihar, an air taxi service connecting various Buddhist sites in the state would be launched soon.

"An air taxi system would soon be ready for the key Buddhist centres and places of other historical importance in Bihar," a state tourism department official said.

The tourism department is likely to sign a MoU with Pawan Hans to start helicopter service from early 2010, he said.

Bodh Gaya, Nalanda, Vaishali, Motihari, Bhagalpur and a few other places in Bihar attract foreign visitors, especially pilgrims from Japan, Indonesia and Thailand.
