ColomboPage News Desk, Aug 28, 2011

New Delhi, India -- Sri Lanka High Commission in New Delhi announced today that three persons of a group of pilgrims who were on a pilgrimage in India visiting the sacred Buddhist sites have gone missing.

The others of the group do not know the exact area where the three went missing during the tour.

Sri Lanka High Commission in India said the missing had been reported to all police stations of India via the Indian government.

The three persons were reportedly with groups from Deniyaya, Yatiyanthota and Elpitiya.

Sri Lankan authorities are on alert and the families of the missing persons are worried due to the recent attacks targeting Sri Lankan pilgrims that took place in South India.
