The Minister said the family unit is now distancing from their values due to various social factors. "The good ethics and social values such as children worshipping their parents cannot be seen in the modern day society. On the contrary, today the parents have to bow down to their children to get things done", the Minister pointed out.
The Minister said the parents had to do this to take their children away from wrong doings and misconduct.
The Minister said Rs.50,000 has been allocated from his decentralised budget funds for the initial construction work of the new shrine room at the 100 years old Vihara.
Delivering a special Anushasana Matale Bikshu Shasanarakshaka Bala Mandalaya Registrar, Ven. Mahalakotuwe Wimaladhamma Thera said that over 700 Buddhist Viharas are being abandoned due lack of Buddhist monks.
