Bogollagama said a 77 acre plot of land which belonged to the Public Trustees Department has been taken over for this project,
He said this zone will be divided into 14 sub divisions and assigned to 14 Buddhist countries for them to provide information about their Buddhist activities and places of worship and enable people to obtain an awareness about them.
This would help enhance and further consolidate Sri Lanka’s friendship and relations with those countries, Bogollagama said. He said the zone will be administered by a Board of Trustees appointed by an Act of Parliament.
