Sri Lankan delegation for World Buddhist Forum

Colombo, Sri Lanka -- The Mahanayaka Thera of Asgiri Chapter, Ven. Udugama Sri Buddharakkitha Mahanayaka Thera, Religious Affairs Minister Pandu Bandaranaike and representatives from the other three Buddhist Chapters who will participate in the Second World Buddhist Forum to be held in Wuxi, China and Chinese Taipei from March 27 to April 1.
The World Buddhist Forum was initiated at the suggestion of the Buddhist communities of the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Macao as well as Taiwan, to provide a pluralistic high-level platform where Buddhists throughout the world can discuss issues in a spirit of equality and openness.
The Second World Buddhist Forum will host 16 sub-forums focusing on the topics, discussions of A Harmonious World, A Synergy of Conditions.
It is supposed to be larger in scale than the First World Buddhist Forum that was held in Zhejiang Province of China in April 2006.
It is expected that Buddhists as well as participants from 37 countries and regions worldwide will attend the Forum this time.
