It is understood that a clause in an earlier Act would be incorporated in the amendments so as to bring stringent measures pertaining to the Finances of Buddhist Institutions that come under the Buddhist Temporalities Act.

According to an earlier Act it had been imperative that the Annual Statements should be filed in the District Court for anyone to inspect the documents so that they could point out any mistakes or shortcomings in the financial statements.

This regulation had been dropped in the recent Act. The two laymen in the Committee are Attorney -at- law Upali Bogahapitiya and Basnayaka Nilame of Pathiini Devalaya Rohan Paranagama.
