"I sit here, so I can make a stand"

This is a statement by Ven.Dr. Omalpe Sobitha Thero, the monk who has initiated a fast to death since June 6 2005, explaining his action and what he attempts to achieve.  The action taken by Ven.Sobitha Thera was initiated in response to the President of Sri Lanka declaring that she will make an "illegal" pact with the separatist LTTE, amidst wide spread opposition to it.
