Ye Xiaowen, China Religious Culture Communication Association (CRCCA) chairman, said the theme "answers to the real intention of the Buddhist creed and coincides with the trend of communication, exchange and cooperation among cultures."

Ye said the harmony concept could be applied to ending conflicts, or even wars, as well as to keeping world peace. The ideal of a harmonious world, addressed by the Chinese government, is a profound understanding of the current global situation.

The Second World Buddhist Forum will be held from Nov. 1 to 5 in Wuxi of Jiangsu province.
