The foundations of the Bendigo shrine are in place, and the steel frames and first floor walls will be erected around June.

Project director Ian Green says representatives are travelling across Australia and the globe telling people about the project to boost donations.

"We have a proven track record of bringing in substantial amounts every year, we've done this successfully for the past 10 years and the signs are those funds from around Australia and around the world are going to continue to grow," he said.
