Group spokeswoman Rosalie Aguila says the facility will cater to people studying Buddhism and allow them to complete one, two or 10-day meditation, as well as three-year live-in meditation retreats.
"People that are really serious about meditation, high-level meditators, often have the intention to do this three-year retreat at some point in time," she said.
"They are supervised by a monk all the time, and they live in and that'll be closed off to the general public."
