Buddhist monk bashed to death in carpark

Perth, Australia -- A 48-YEAR-OLD Buddhist monk who was savagely attacked in a public car park in Perth's south has died.

Buu Lieu, also known as Paul, was found with serious injuries, lying near his blue Kia station wagon in Bibra Lake Regional Park on Sunday January 10, PerthNow reports.

He died in Charles Gardiner Hospital last night.

Police are calling for witnesses to come forward to help piece together what happened to Mr Lieu in the early hours of Sunday.

They have not revealed a motive for the attack.

Mr Lieu was living with his mother and sister after moving to Perth from Vietnam as a child.

He was last seen by his family at midnight and was found at 5am by his vehicle.
