Art exhibition on Buddhism begins in India

Gorakhpur, India -- A THREE-day fine arts exhibition on Buddhism was held at the Bodh museum at Ramgarh Tal. Former principal of Pt Jawaharlal Nehru College Kunwar Bahadur Kaushik inaugurated this exhibition. In this exhibition important religious places of Buddhists, their sculptures, painting and terracotta work were displayed that attracted a large number of people.

Dr Kaushik expressed hope that the exhibition would promote the upcoming artists. He further said that the atmosphere of the museum, the drawing, paintings and puja pots related to Bauddh religion would also give a message of non-violence and communal harmony to the people.

Delivering his views on this occasion museum incharge Sanjiv Kumar Upadhyay, Shivnath and others said the objective of the exhibition was to educate people about Bauddh art and architecture. This exhibition would continue till March 2.

Also speaking on the occasion, Ashok Kumar and Anand Kumar Rao said that contemporary arts like poetry, sculpture and painting displayed here by the local and outstation painters would be the main point of attraction for the people of the area.
