Chinese Buddhist pictures exhibited in Myanmar

CNTV, Jan 8, 2014

Yangon, Myanmar -- A two-week Chinese Buddhist picture exhibition dubbed "Homage to the Buddha" has opened at Myanmar's famous Shwedagon Pagoda. The exhibition aims to enhance ties between the two countries' Buddhist circles and people.

Sixty-five Buddhism-themed photos from Buddhist monks and nuns of various monasteries in Hangzhou are featured in the exhibition.

The exhibition has been organized by the Chinese embassy in Myanmar and the Board of Trustees of the Shwedagon Pagoda. The Chinese embassy hopes that this display will not only enhance understanding of Chinese Buddhism in Myanmar's Buddhist community, but also promote friendship between the two peoples.

The exhibition runs until January 19th.
