Talk on Buddhism and ecology

Bangkok, Thailand -- The World Buddhist University is holding a Buddhist Forum from noon to 1:30pm this Sunday, March 6. The title of the forum is ``Buddhism, Consciousness and Ecology''; it will be held at the WBU Centre offices on the third floor of the WFB headquarters in Benjasiri Park, Sukhumvit 24.

The guest speaker will be Dr Daniel Henning, a Professor Emeritus of Environmental Affairs at the University of Montana in the US. Dr Henning has worked as a park ranger and naturalist in US National Parks and is a consultant to the United Nations and Asian agencies on environmental conservation issues. A past Senior Fulbright Research Scholar for Asia, he has written numerous books and articles on environmental and conservation issues including Managing the Environmental Crisis (Duke University Press) and Tree Talk and Tales.

Dr Henning has studied Buddhism for over 12 years and was ordained a monk in Burma. He was invited by His Holiness the Dalai Lama to participate in the Ecological Responsibility Conference in India.
