Over 6.5 million baht was raised in Phuket for Buddhist monks’ education under the King’s initiative

Phuket, Thailand -- Around 6.5 million baht fund was raised and presented to the privy councilor Kamthon Sinthawanond who came down to Phuket on Saturday.

Privy councilor Kamthon is the chairman of the Royal Education fund for Buddhist Monks. The fund has been collected from 17 funds in Phuket such as Buddhism Association, Khajornkiatseksa School and the Anchalee Vanit Theppabutra fund.

These donations came under the work of the Phuket Provincial Administration Organization, Buddhism Office in Phuket and Jui Tui shrine which organized charity donations since May.

The royal program in support of Buddhist monks’s education was initiated by HM the King to promote accurate study on Buddhism for monks and novices.
