The Vietnamese Buddhist delegation, led by the Most Venerable Duong Nhon, vice president of the Viet Nam Buddhist Sangha Executive Council, paid a first-ever visit to Cambodia this week at the invitation of the Cambodian Buddhist Sangha.
Host and guests exchanged views on the history, founding, and operations of Buddhism, as well as methods to expand Buddhism and Buddhist education in both countries. Both expressed a desire for closer co-operation between Buddhist communities in the two countries, contributing to the solidarity and friendship between Viet Nam and Cambodia.
During the visit, Vietnamese Buddhist dignitaries met with Tep Vong, Supreme Patriarch of Cambodia?s Mahayana sect, and Bua Kri, Supreme Patriarch of Cambodia?s Hinayana sect.
Vietnamese and Cambodian Buddhist dignitaries agreed on principles of religious harmony and bilateral co-operation. They hoped to strengthen the friendship between Buddhist sects of the two countries.
