Buddhist monk filmed naked women bathing in holy water at temple: cops

Phnom Penh, Cambodia -- A Buddhist monk has been accused of being less than holy.

Net Khai, a 37-year-old Cambodian, was charged this weekend after he filmed hundreds of naked women bathing in holy water, then shared the revealing videos.

"He has filmed hundreds of women since 2008. They came to the monk to be blessed with holy water, but they were secretly filmed," said Police Chief Touch Naruth.

The man has been charged in Cambodian court with "producing and distributing pornographic images," prosecutor Ek Chheng Huot told Agence France-Presse.

Khai allegedly captured the footage at a temple, where women could come to use the pagoda bathroom for the religious ceremony.

"His act affects other monks and Buddhism and seriously harms our tradition," Naruth said.

Khai, who has been stripped of his religious status, faces up to a year in prison.
