Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam -- A delegation from the Lao Buddhist Union held a working session with dignitaries from the Viet Nam Buddhist Sangha’s Executive Council in HCM City yesterday.

The council’s vice chairman and general secretary, the Most Venerable Thich Hien Phap, warmly welcomed the delegation led by the Most Venerable Bouakham Saribouth, the vice president of the Lao Buddhist Union.

The two sides reviewed the implementation of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the two Buddhist sanghas, signed in 2005, and agreed that the exchange of Buddhist post-graduate monks had gained remarkable results.

The Most Venerable from Lao thanked the Viet Nam Buddhist Sangha for its help for the union over the past, and pledged to carry out agreements that both sanghas had already signed for mutual benefit of the two nations and Buddhism.
