Hanoi, Vietnam -- Hanoi Buddhist monks, nuns and followers have joined in a number of social activities and raised more than VND1 billion for charitable activities, said the Management Board of the Hanoi Buddhist Shangha at a meeting in Hanoi on January 7.

Furthermore, with support from international organizations, the management board set up medical centres to provide healthcare check-ups to local people and HIV/AIDS carriers at Phap Van, Thanh Am, Thi Cam and Am Cua Bac pagodas.

It also offers free medical check-ups and educational courses to local people and disabled children.
