Beware when donating to Puzhao Buddhist Vihara
Young Buddhist Association of Malaysia, Nov 7, 2014
Petaling Jaya, Malaysia -- Young Buddhist Association of Malaysia (YBAM) warns the public to be cautious when donating to Puzhao Buddhist Vihara in order to prevent fraud.
Lately, YBAM received reports regarding a third party asking for donations in the name of Puzhao Buddhist Vihara, but the bank account number and the name of the account holder is not under YBAM. In view of this, YBAM would like to remind the public to contact the YBAM secretariat (03-78049154/57) if you suspect any fundraiser or have doubts on their origins.
Currently, Puzhao Buddhist Vihara is 98 percent completed. Upon completion, the Puzhao Buddhist Vihara will serve as a resource centre, modern training centre for Buddhist youths, meditation centre, and heritage exhibition centre. However, the construction costs of Puzhao Buddhist Vihara, including the building and facilities after receiving occupation permit, is still short of RM2 million.
YBAM invites the public to support Puzhao Buddhist Vihara so that the construction work can be completed successfully. Apart from cash donation, you can also donate items for Puzhao Buddhist Vihara.
