Mr. Kubicka is a Chicago native who helped wounded civilians during the Vietnam War through his affiliation with a Quaker project, and later became involved with the Rochester Zen Center. He moved to Batavia in 2000 to oversee construction of the Chapin Mill Retreat Center, and took over the reins of the center in 2004. Chapin Mill is a 135-acre country property that was donated to the Rochester Zen Center by Ralph Chapin, who was the Chairman and Treasurer of Chapin Industries in Batavia.
Mr. Kubicka's lecture, which is free and open to the public, is in room T119, in the Technology Building.

"This event also recognizes the college's new leadership and vision with the Inauguration of President Sunser on May 5th."
The lecture is part of the year-long "Circle of Life" Global Education program at GCC, which will include a Tibetan photography exhibit in the lobby of the Stuart Steiner Theater and the construction of a sand mandala by Tibetan Monks in the GCC Forum later in April and early May.
