The Regional Tibetan Youth Congress of New York and New Jersey, at its current juncture is still pressing the door of the United Nations building here in New York. Palden Gyatso, a former political prisoner of Tibet), RTYC board members will submit petition to the UN High Commissioner, urging for the immediate release of TDR, Panchen Lama and all the political prisoners in Tibet. Along with the petition, RTYC members will also submit the signatures gathered from about 7000.00 supporters, addressed to the UN General Secretary Mr. Kofi Anan, urging him to implement his authority for the release of Tenzin Delek Rinpoche. On the same day, RTYC NY & New Jersey, upon words from the Centrex President Mr. Kalsang Phuntsok Godukpa la, asked all the North American Tibetan Youth Congress bodies to assemble here in New York to stage a big demonstration collectively in front of United Nation Building.

During the November 7th New York Marathon ?04, in which the Kalsang Dolma Dodin took part, RTYC along with the Tibetans Women?s Association of New York and New Jersey and the Tibetan Community of New York and New Jersey came up with an idea of having the message of Rinpoche?s immediate release on Kelsang?s shirt so that the message could pass over to more than 37.000 marathoners from around the world and about two million cheerers along the roadside. At the finish line of the marathon, the members pasted many posters of Rinpoche with a message ?You Can Save My Life.?

On August 7-8, 2004, during the 4th North American Tibetan Youth Congress Conference in New York, extensive discussion was held on Rinpoche?s issue and implementation of the resolutions passed during the conference are in action among the TYC chapters in North America.
