Improving Relationships meditation series at UUC

Independent, Nov 12, 2008

MIDDLETOWN, NJ (USA) -- A four-week series of meditation classes is being held from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation (UUC) of Monmouth County, 1475 W. Front St., Lincroft.

The series will run every Tuesday night through Dec. 2. The first class was held Tuesday. Although taught as a series, each class is self-contained.

The sessions will be led by meditation teacher Peter Kurczynski and will focus on how Buddhist meditation can promote acceptance of others and letting go of resentment, blaming, frustration and insecurity, according to a press release from the Dharmachakra Buddhist Center.

Each class will begin with a gentle, relaxing meditation, followed by a practical teaching on an aspect of Buddhist meditation and practice to apply to everyday life. The class ends with a guided meditation to help participants begin to practice it on their own.

This meditation series is being offered in conjunction with the Dharmachakra Buddhist Center, a nonprofit organization based in Maplewood with ongoing classes in the Red Bank/Lincroft area.

A $15 donation per class is suggested; no one is turned away for lack of funds. All are welcome.
